Welcome to the Guthrie County Treasurer webpage.  In our office, we collect property taxes, process motor vehicle transactions, and issue driver’s licenses.

We process transactions daily between the hours of 8:00 am & 4:00 pm.  

Appointments are not necessary for motor vehicle or property tax transactions.

Treasurer’s Office Property Taxes & Motor Vehicles:

The best and most secure way to pay property taxes and vehicle renewals is online.  They can be paid online at  When paying online, you are provided a receipt to print for your records if needed.  If you need assistance making the online payment, please call our office and we can assist you.  The fee for an e-check is only $0.25.

The next best method is sending the payment by mail.  We will process your payments as they come into our office.  If you would like to have a receipt, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope.  In the event we may need to contact you about your payment, please provide a good contact number.

There is also a drop box available by the East door of the courthouse for your convenience.

Please note:  A bill of sale is required for the transfer of all purchased vehicles.  A bill of sale should include the buyer’s name and signature; seller’s name and signature; date of sale, VIN of the purchased vehicle along with the year and make, and the final purchase price.

Treasurer’s Office Driver’s License:

If you need to renew your driver’s license, we encourage you to try to renew online at  If you are unable to renew online, please contact our office to schedule an appointment.

Please note:  Your license is considered expired after 60 days from the expiration date of your driver’s license.

The date to obtain the REAL ID for domestic travel has been extended to May 2025.  You can find a listing of items needed for the REAL ID by visiting the state website
